В Release Notes v196.75 (Vista/Win7) нет никаких намёков на исправление косяков в G1/G2:

Open Issues in Version 196.75
As with every released driver, version 196.75 of the Release 196 driver has open issues and enhancement requests associated with it. This section includes lists of issues that are either not fixed or not implemented in this version. Версии 196.75 для ноутбуков пока ещё нет, а возиться с прикруткой модденых .inf файлов не хочу. Поэтому жду вашего отчёта о наличии или отсутствии косяков с этии играми на Windows 7.
